How To Resolve Windows Installation Issues With Secure Erase

Secure erase is a feature that securely clears or removes data from an external hard drive, solid-state drive (SSD), or other storage devices. If you’re experiencing installation issues with Secure Erase, here are some steps to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Run the Secure Erase Tool

Reboot into Safe Mode: Restart your computer and hold the Shift key while booting up.

Press F8 repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.

Select Safe Mode with Networking and then press Enter.

If you’re connected to a network, make sure it’s configured correctly and try connecting to a different network if possible.

Once in Safe Mode, go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager (Windows 7) or Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Disk Management (Windows 8/10).

Look for the drive that’s causing the issue and right-click on it to select Erase.
